Theo Rossi's THEOry Podcast is a Must for Any Fan of SOA
You might recognize the name Theo Rossi if you’ve ever watched Sons of Anarchy. Rossi portrayed the beloved Juice on SOA for all seven seasons that the show aired on FX (psst, if you’ve never seen it, you can stream it on Hulu in its entirety now!). In light of the pandemic, Rossi has started a podcast, appropriately called ‘THEOry’.
Per Rossi’s description of the podcast, “THEOry is a podcast for this moment, what I like to call the Age of Authenticity. In it, I will speak to the people who have had a profound influence on me and those who share my many and varied interests. Someone once told me I was the most curious person they had ever met. I loved that, because I believe every single second of every day is an opportunity, not only to learn something new in the world but also an opportunity to learn something new about myself. My goal for THEOry is to discuss the things no one ever does. Real talk. The other side of glory. The sacrifice and the struggle. I know this, because I started in the entertainment business not at the bottom but below it. My life has put me in the unique position to see things honestly. No B.S. I give you my truth at all times. I am exactly who I say I am. On THEOry I'm going to find out exactly who everyone else is ― the good, the bad and the ugly.”
While the podcast initially started as a way for Theo to have meaningful discussions with fellow friends, actors, and creators about their various thoughts, experiences, and theories about life, it has quickly transitioned into something much bigger for fans of SOA. About ten episodes in, Theo began dedicating episodes to a special segment called ‘#ReaperReviews’, in which Theo and fellow actor, Kim Coates, who portrayed Tig Trager in the series, discuss and break-down episodes in depth, often sharing anecdotal stories of what was going on behind the scenes. As a viewer and listener, it’s awesome to hear them discuss these episodes with a depth and perspective that previously would have been unattainable.
Aside from being incredibly insightful and occasionally philosophical, Theo and Kim are also just really fucking funny. Their chemistry and friendship is infectious, and makes it all the more entertaining to listen to.
The #ReaperReviews have served to be a huge hit with SOA fans, as Theo and Kim have completed 25 reviews in total, and are still going with new releases every Wednesday. It’s proven to be an incredibly valuable and entertaining way to spend their time in quarantine.
You can listen to Theo Rossi’s THEOry Podcast with Kim Coates on any podcast streaming service, including Apple Podcasts and Spotify, or you can watch episodes on YouTube!
